Great weekend windsurfing and wing/wind foiling. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Gold and Silver Fleet races. Special thanks to Nick Fletcher, Paddy Lyner, Chris Loughridge for organising this fantastic annual slalom event and sponsorship. Special thanks too for safety boat management, John Hayes and our NSC Social Team for looking after catering, Liz Borne, Lana Richie and Dee MacFadyen. Great to see the club in full action this weekend. ✨🏆✨ Winners were: Gold Fleet 1st - Joe Galeckas 2nd - Jonathan Crean 3rd - Ciaran Moore Silver Fleet 1st - Didris Teteris David Corkill has a super drone video of the event up on his YouTube channel: We were happy to have assisted Strangford Coastal Rowing Club in their "Big Row" around the lough last Saturday, with NSC being one of their crew change points. In all they covered 32 nautical miles in an impressive time of 7 hours 40 minutes! Thanks to John Clemenston, one of our Trustees, for liaising on the organisation of this. As part of gearing up for the start of the season we held a very well attended Marine Radio SRC course at the weekend. Knowing how to use a VHF set correctly can be a life saver during an emergency. So, vital skills learnt and we had passes all round! Thanks to RG from Safer Waters for coming along to run this for us. |
