RACING RULES SEMINARS

23/2/2022

For all you sailboat racers out there the club is planning to hold a series of seminars on Thursday evenings during March. These seminars are based on RYA webinars that were broadcast last spring.

So, whether you are an experienced sailor who knows all of the rules, or one who has their own version of the rules or if you have no clue at all, these webinars will be interesting to everyone.

There are 6 webinars in total and you can find them on YouTube if you search RYA Rules of Racing https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=rya+racing+rules+of+sailing

These sessions will be very informal and will be run basically on a Q&A basis as each episode is played. The plan would be to cover 2 webinars each evening so we should be able to cover all of them over first three Thursdays. That being the case we will then use the final Thursday to show the rig tuning presentation given by Mike McNamara at the Dinghy Show 2016. Mike came to NSC some years ago for a training weekend and his explanations of how a sailing rig works is very interesting. Again, you can find this presentation on YouTube

VENUE: NSC member’s lounge
WHEN:  4 Thursdays in March commencing
TIME:    7.30pm SHARP until 9.00pm approximately

If you intend to come to the first session it would be useful if you could watch episodes 1 & 2 in advance

Trustee John Clemenston has kindly  planted a tree in the area behind the new gate and intends to place some ground cover around it in the spring.  Here he is looking very pleased with himself! John quietly does a huge amount of work around the club on his own initiative, so he's every right to be. Thanks John!
