This year's GP14 Championship of Ireland at NSC was one to remember with more 45 boats registered, representing over 20 clubs, and sailing on each of the 3 days allowed all 8 races to be completed. Thanks to all of our club members who pitched in, the race management team, our sponsors, and the visiting crews for making the event a great success!

Photographer Bob Given documented the weekend for us, both on and off the water, and his pictures can be viewed at: 2024 GP14 Championship of Ireland Images - Google Drive Finally, our own David Corkill has produced an exceptional, action packed on the water video: 2024 GP14 Championship of Ireland (youtube.com) Last weekend RYA Northern Ireland held Northern Ireland's very first Wingsurfing Instructor Course at NSC. The trainers, brought over from Cornwall and North Wales, were blown away at how good a venue NSC is, and we can't wait to start running courses with our newly qualified instructors! GP14 Autumn Series The Autumn Series begins this Sunday, 3rd September at Newtownards Sailing Club. It’s been a pretty frustrating summer for our sailors, so here’s hoping for more settled conditions and fair winds! First gun is at 2.30pm with two short races each week, continuing until 12th November. The series is also open to non-members at no charge, so we hope to welcome a few visitors from the GP14 Ireland fleet for some competitive racing. Any members, particularly those who have recently learnt to sail, who would like to race one of the club GP14 boats, please email GP14 Fleet Secretary Jennifer Bryce at [email protected] |
Sunday Brunch
Join us for Sunday Brunch, available at the clubhouse every Sunday in September, from 12-2pm. If you would like to avail of a bacon or sausage buttie before sailing or post-surf or swim, register here in advance. Cost £5pp.

RNLI BBQ It doesn’t matter who’s in trouble or where they are, the RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards will answer the call to save everyone they can. And you can be their hero by joining us for our very own outdoor fundraiser this summer. NSC are hosting a relaxed barbecue at the clubhouse on Sunday 24th September, from 3-6pm to raise funds – and perhaps a toast! – for our RNLI lifesavers. Please show your support and register here. Cost £10pp. |

🔨GROUNDS WORK🪜
Some of our long-standing members have started a Wrinklies Tuesday Club!
Two projects are currently underway:
1. At the grounds entrance, the old fencing has been removed, the bank cleared and ground re-seeded with grass.
2. At the green container - new support bracing has been fitted and the area underneath cleared. The initial purpose here was to support the fencing but in due course this area could be roofed and use for storage.
A huge thanks to the “Wrinklies” for this much needed effort!
If any other members would like to get involved, please contact John Clementson or Brian Andrews.
