Best Regards The Committee The club was delighted to host this year's Ulster GP14 Championships over the weekend. The event had to take account of the current restrictions of course, but the the weather was favourable in this regard, enabling briefings, presentations and hospitality to be held comfortably outdoors. There were 28 boats taking part, from many of the GP14 Ireland affiliated clubs, and we had 2 great days of competitive, enjoyable racing. The Gold fleet winners were Ger Owens and Melanie Morris, of Royal St. George Yacht Club. It was excellent to see so many of our own members and boats taking part with good results across the Gold, Silver, and Bronze fleets. Special mention has to go to Steven and Daniel Nelson who took one of our club boats to 2nd place in the Silver fleet, and a very respectable 6th overall. Thanks to everyone who took part, both on and off the water!
Full results are available here. Video footage from David Corkill can be viewed here ![]() The club would formally like to acknowledge the recent generous support provided by Ards and North Down Borough Council, through their Sports Development Fund 2021. This has assisted with the much needed refurbishment of the club's changing rooms, which will reopen imminently, and be of great benefit to our members. Please note, that whist the Clubhouse essentially remains closed due to restrictions, the toilets are of course available for use. However, to maintain compliance with regulations, a one way system has been implemented. Entry to the building will be by the front door only, with the exit though the respective male/female changing room doors that open onto the dinghy park. The changing rooms themselves are still only allowed to be used in an emergency. Signage has been erected to remind members of the route they should take through the building. Thanks for your cooperation in this.
